Ann Edwards School of Nursing & Health Sciences

Dr. Laly Joseph | Dean, Ann Blanton Edwards School of Nursing & Health Sciences
The Keith R. Berend Endowed Chair of Nursing

The Ann Blanton Edwards School of Nursing and Health Sciences has been in a period of tremendous growth and development over the last decade. With your support, our students and faculty have accomplished impressive milestones over this time. Our baccalaureate, master’s and doctoral degrees in the nursing program has increased enrollment to meet the exploding demand for registered nurses, nurse practitioners, and nursing leaders while focusing on engaged learning leading to exceptional NCLEX and certification pass rates. Our exercise science program has expanded and has become known in the state and national region for centering student research and practical application of skills and knowledge. Our nursing programs are fully accredited by CCNE, and our exercise science program is recognized and received CASCE accreditation last year.

Thanks to a generous donor, we became the second named School at Florida Southern College. We also added an additional facility with the purchase and renovation of a Graduate Nursing Building with a state- of-the-art Simulation and Clinical Learning Center to complement our existing Blanton Nursing Building. The U.S. News and World Report have ranked our graduate nursing programs for the past two years. Florida Southern College also supported the partial renovation of Edge Hall to create a space for exercise science program classrooms and labs containing state-of-the-art equipment.

We hope you will consider contributing toward the continued growth and accomplishments of the programs in the Ann Blanton Edwards School of Nursing and Health Sciences. We must increase the availability of scholarships to help ease students’ financial burden, as it is also critical that our students have access to the faculty, space, and equipment they need to hone their skills as professionals. Your generous support will propel our students toward even greater success, while also meeting the critical need for additional healthcare professionals.
